‘Daybreakers’ is the latest thrilling vampire movie from Hollywood written and directed by Peter and Michael Spierig. It was released on January 6 in the United Kingdom and on January 8 in the United States this year.

The definition of vampire films has changed in the recent years. Smart vampire films like Underworld and Blade and the super hit Twilight were made in the past few years. ‘Daybreakers’ is another addition in this genre.

The plot:

The story of Daybreakers begins in 2019 when plague started to transform humans into vampires. So to save their blood supply, the vampires started to save as many people as they can. Meanwhile, a way is discovered to save human race from transferring into vampire. A group of still remaining people, including a hematologist Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke), started to work on saving people. There is another group of extreme vampire in the film called ‘sub-sider’, who lost their normal human characteristics and become creatures like bat. Within many events, the daughter of the vampire leader Charles Bromley (Sam Neill) becomes a sub-sider and dies by the order of Bromley. The group of Bromley discovers a substitute of blood and Bromley loses his interest in using the cure to save human race from becoming vampires. That leads to a war between the vampires and the human race.

Daybreakers is one of the vampire films portraying war between vampires and human, rather than showing scary storyline like old-time vampire movies. It got mixed response from the viewers and the critics after its release. The IMDB rating of Daybreakers is 7.2 and it has 66% rating in Rotten Tomatoes. After its first week in box office, Daybreakers is in number four position with a total profit of $ 18,361,046.

Conclusion

Daybreakers is something new! Maybe not must see for a classical vampire movie fan, but definitely cool and entertaining movie to watch. Besides sharp teeth and blood you can see some real thrilling action.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula has ruled people’s minds since years and the vampires have sucked the peace from people’s minds. Well, it is true that many people started believing in the existence of the vampires since then and also, many people have attracted various mysterious energies all over the world. Directed by Francic ford Coppola, Bram Stoker’s Dracula has attracted various movie watchers and it has been really appreciated.

Plot:

The story is set in 1492m during the time when Constantine has fallen apart. The prince Dracula (Gary Oldman) is all set to take revenge and to conquer the world. During his regime, he leaves his beautiful wife Elizabeta (Winona Ryder) alone in order to conquer Turks. After some days, she receives a message stating that the prince Dracula is no more and has died. On hearing this, she cannot bear the pain and jumps from the cliff and dies into a river. Since the death of the princess is a suicide, the royal Bishop (Antony Hopkins) proclaims that it is damned. When Dracula returns, he renounces church and the god.

Far away, Jonathan Harker (Keanu Reaves) was sent for some business purpose to do dealing with one of the castles of Dracula. He is about to get married to Mina. During his stay in the castle, he gets strange dreams of seducing girls. He also notices Dracula’s strange ways like crawling in the night, climbing the walls of the castle like reptile. The action and horror begins.

Conclusion:

This film is actually about the Hungarian prince, whose real name was Vlad Dracula, who inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Some of the events in the film are actual events depicting the prince Dracula.

Supernatural stories have been a part of everybody’s lives. Some people hate this subject and some people enjoy this. However, there are some people who want to make their lives like that and start practicing strange arts and dark arts of the forbidden world. No matter what, we are still unsure of many things and we never know if these things do exist or not. Cronos is a story where an ancient alchemist creates some device and then the whole story revolves around this mysterious and strange subject.

Plot:

The film starts with an alchemist creates something mysterious and the year is 1536. He creates this device and names it as the Cronos device, which is the key to the eternal life. He wanted to live forever and therefore he creates this device. The time goes by and the passage of time makes everything different.

Hundred years later, a museum walls sudden break, and the year is 1937. From the statue emerges a man with wounds, mortal wounds all over the chest and then he looked someone from ancient world. He is not alive but seems to be dead. He is the alchemist of that long-gone era. People do not know anything about the person and the device that he has created. It is a mystery!

One day, a girl finds this device and then everything starts changing. The device confirms the eternity and immortality but whoever uses that start to crave for human blood and in this way the life of a person starts to increase. The whole film is about the Cronos device.

Conclusion:

This is a different kind of film and is different from other vampire movies. You must watch this in order to enjoy everything, the world is filled with strange souls!

The Fearless Vampire Killers, which is popularly known as “Dance of the Vampires” outside U.S. It was also titled as “The Fearless Vampire Killers, or Pardon Me, But Your Teeth Are in My Neck” in its American release.

Plot:

Professor Ambronsius (Jack MacGowran) is an old aged academician, who specializes in the study and research of bats and vampires. The young and wacky Alfred (Polanski) assists Professor Ambronsius in his academic pursuits, during which time they both have to travel to a village named Transylvania which is always snow-clad and it said to have been inhibited by vampires.

The Professor and Alfred puts up at an inn in Transylvania, where Alfred and Sarah (Sharon Tate) the beautiful and comely daughter of the innkeeper get romantically involved. Suddenly one day Sharon is abducted by the vampire Count Von Krolock (Ferdy Mayne) and to her rescue comes Professor Ambronsius and Alfred, who then head towards the castle which is occupied by the vampires.

Conclusion:

The movie has the same plot as any other vampire movie, but what makes it different is the horror spoof that has been tried to create. Alfred’s character played by Polanski has its special touch of Polanski making it worth a watch and watching Count Von Krolock played by Ferdy Mayne in the vampire role is just splendid. It is said that later on the movie underwent heavy editing because of which Polanski’s role was cut short and in many scenes dubbing was done due to which movie’s essence was lost. As a result, Polanski asked his name to be removed from the credits of the movie. However, it is worth a watch for Polanski’s humour.
