Shadow of the vampire is filmed in an amazing way and was launched in theatres in the year 2000. Vampire stories are dark and eccentric and shadow of the vampire is something like that, which people really loved and appreciated worldwide. Everything seemed perfect and it looked almost real and this film received appreciation from critics all over the world. Directed by E.Elias Merhige, the film received the award for one of the best and strangest vampire movies.

 

This film is based on the real Nosferatu(1922) and this is filmed on the lead actor of that time. The film portrays the real character of the actor as a Vampire and his eccentric nature. The shadow of the vampire, really, means the shadow of the then actor who tried his best to hide his true nature.

 

The actor of the film, Max sherick (John Malkovich) always appears in full makeup and is very mysterious. He does not talk to anybody and always is in obscurity, by making people think that he has the darkest part of life.

 

One evening two of the crew members invite Max for drinking and then jokingly they ask about his vampirism and then he explains them that he is too old and does not even remember how and when did he become a vampire. They just laugh and do not believe until he catches a bat as quickly as lightening and then drinks its blood.

The film is beautifully directed and amazingly visualized. One can think that this is an actual documentary and it is about the original life of the then actor Max. Watch this movie and enjoy the horror and drama.
