Vampire Movies

 

Vampires have haunted many minds, no matter where they are. The question is not whether they exist but the question is — how vulnerable is human mind that it gets enticed? Vampire movies have been a part of humans since years and vampires have been part of human blood since ages, countless ages. Every time some or the other vampire movie emerges and one of these movies is Near Dark, directed by Kathryn Bigelow in the year 1987.

 

The film opens with a stunning scene and it is about a cowboy named Caleb (Andrian Pasdar) who meets a sexy girl Mae (Jenny Wright). They get attracted to each other and it is like a love at first sight when their eyes meet. Caleb does not know that the girl is not a human but a killer vampire. Before parting, he asks for a kiss and instead of kissing, Mae thrusts her sharp teeth into Caleb’s soft neck and sucks the blood and runs away. Caleb gets confused as he does not know what was happening unless the sun sets and the body of Caleb welcomes the dusk.

 

Caleb’s truck does not start and he is taken by the family of Mae and spends the whole day sleeping with her ‘vampire’ family without understanding or realizing. The same day, he strives hard to get back to the town, but he cannot for some reason and he starts to feel sick. He later realizes that he is becoming vampire. The love and passion of Mae and Caleb are very well depicted in this movie.
