Ratings:

Horror of Dracula still haunts the people around. There was a time when kids did not sleep, mothers used to scare them by saying, “sleep my sweet child, or Dracula will come”. This is an age-old practice, which came into being especially after Bram Stoker’s classic creation Dracula. Horror of Dracula was directed by Terence Fisher in the year 1958, which created fusion of horror in that era.

Plot:

The year is 1885 and on May 3rd, a man named Jonathan Harker (John Van Eyssen) visits the castle of Dracula as a Librarian. His main motive is to eradicate the horror of Dracula. He maintains his journals in a diary and he wants to end the “reign of terror”.

During his stay, Harker comes across a beautiful nymph (Valerie Gaunt). She tries to seduce him in various ways and seeks help from Harker to take her away from the castle. Harker does not know that she is not a human. After some time, she tries to dig her teeth into the neck of Harker but Dracula (Christopher Lee) intervenes. However, Harker finds bite-marks on his neck the next morning.

One day Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) arrives in the city, asking for Harker, but he later finds that he is no more. The story then takes twists and turns from here when the dead bodies get up straight from their filthy graves to suck the blood of people who are living.

Conclusion:

The movie Horror of Dracula is one of the best vampire movies of all time and the acting and directing parts are stunning. One has to watch in a dark room to feel the real feeling of Dracula.
